Created in 2020 by filmmaker Akimi Ota, based on his extensive experience of anthropological fieldwork amongst the Shuar people of the Amazon rainforest, this film has won numerous awards at international film festivals. It was released in cinemas across Japan, primarily in arthouse theatres, from October 2021, garnering a wide range of responses. Since then, its international recognition has grown, with theatrical releases and special screenings taking place in Ecuador, Peru and Mexico.
Through our official bilingual (Japanese and English) website, we will share information about the film, as well as provide details of streaming services where the film is available and accept applications for screenings.
We will continue our efforts to reach an ever-wider audience, using this website as a new hub. We would be grateful for your continued support and encouragement in the years to come.
